Juiced Bikes shut down, so what’s next for Juiced Bike owners and prospective ebike buyers?
News has been swirling around about Juiced Bikes, a major electric bike company focused on high performance ebikes, closing down.
Juiced Bikes is a California-based electric bike company originally founded in 2009 by Olympian and engineer Tora Harris, with early roots in high-capacity lithium-ion battery development before quickly pivoting into full eBike design and production. Known for its customer-first ideology and performance-driven engineering, Juiced positioned itself as one of the original direct-to-consumer eBike brands in the U.S. market.
The brand gained recognition for powerful and long-range eBikes that blend commuter practicality with sporty performance. Juiced models such as the RipCurrent, CrossCurrent, HyperScrambler, and HyperScorpion were especially popular for their high-voltage 52 V systems, robust batteries, quick acceleration, and versatile use cases from urban commuting to light off-road riding. These bikes often stood out in the industry for offering Class 3 speeds, ample range, and bold moto-inspired styling at competitive price points.
Juiced Bikes primarily focused on direct ecommerce sales, enabling strong value-oriented pricing by eliminating retail intermediaries. Their lineup spanned commuter, adventure, fat-tire, and moped-style electric bikes, appealing to riders seeking both utility and spirited performance without a premium cost structure. Though the brand manufactured components globally, its design, engineering, and support operations were rooted in the San Diego area.
After financial challenges and an auction of its assets, Juiced Bikes ceased regular operations, but the brand’s intellectual property and trademarks were acquired in 2025 by the founders of Lectric eBikes, who announced plans to revive Juiced Bikes as a distinct company while preserving its performance heritage. This revival aims to bring the iconic high-power DNA back to the market with renewed support and product development.
