Aventon’s Pace 500.3 may look the same as the Pace 500 Next Gen but this new electric bike has some major upgrades
We love Aventon ebikes and one of our favorites of late has been the Pace 500 Next Gen. Damian and I have logged over 500 miles on our Pace 500 Next gen and it continues to be one of the favorites in our fleet of electric bikes. Aventon just released an updated version of the Pace 500 which they’re calling the Pace 500.3. In this article we’ll highlight the major changes for this new ebike, which incorporates some noteworthy enhancements into its tried and true frame design, transforming the ride experience.
If you love the Pace 500 Next Gen as much as we did (below is our Youtube Review) you can still purchase it for the amazing price of $1399.

The updated version of the Pace comes with many of the features we loved about the original version like a 500w motor, hydraulic brakes, and a beautiful & clean design but there are some existing updates & additions.
The big changes we love
-
- Torque sensor
-
- The old Pace 500 Next Gen comes equipped with a cadence sensor which has been great but the more advanced torque sensor allows for a more natural ride since it’s measuring the force of your pedaling rather than just movement like with a cadence sensor. For a city bike like the Pace a cadence sensor should be a major upgrade and one most rider should enjoy since you’re likely to not be riding up huge hills. If you have tried a cadence sensor, we recommend you find the closest Aventon Dealer to you to test ride one.
-
- Shot out to our closest Aventon Dealer, E-Bikery in Santa Barbara, Ca which offers many ebike bike brands and most Aventon models while also providing servicing for any ebike.

-
- Turn Signals
-
- The Pace 500 Next Gen did not include turn signals so this was an addition to this new ebike and a welcome one. We haven’t tested this ebike but look forward to seeing how well this new feature works.

-
- New Colors!
-
- We love the colors of the Pace 500 Next Gen but the Pace 500.3 comes in 2 new colors: Camouflage and Blue Steel and 2 of the old colors with some slight changes: Black and White

- New Colors!
-
- Pedal Assist Levels
-
- The old Pace had the traditional PAS 1-5 but this new Pace 500.3 comes with 4 levels called Eco, Sport, Tour and Turbo. These 4 new levels are more in line with the use of a torque sensor and how these levels each feel.
