Look and Feel
This is one of the coolest, if not the coolest, looking commuter ebikes in this category, and there are some great looking commuter ebikes out there, like the Ride1up 500 series. The bright orange color option draws a striking contrast with the bike’s black components, such as the seat, battery, and handlebars, which makes this ebike stand out. I should mention the color & look of this ebike is what initially captured my attention so of course we had toorde it immediately in orange!
In addition to the amazing look of the Breeze, it has a very affordable price of $1399 including rack and fenders, which you’ll find is not included for all ebikes in this price range. As an example, the Ride1up 500 series (which we’ll compare to this ebike in a later post) has the lower price of $1195 but it does not include fenders and a rack.
Specs
This ebike has a powerful 500w motor and an impressive battery for its price point, a 768wh Samsung cell battery which will probably give you a range of 25-45 miles, an extra 5 miles or so of range relative to comparable ebikes with ranges of 25-40 miles. This is a key differentiator for the KBO Breeze, as you’d normally get less wH for under $1400.. Aside from the affordability and aesthetics of the Breeze, the battery is the other main reason you should be considering this ebike.
In addition to the battery and motor, the Breeze has a good set of components for an ebike under $1400, which include Shimano Altus shifters, Shimano Altus derailleurs, and Tektro 180mm mechanical disc brakes. These components are not anything to brag about and in fact, these are similar or a slight step down for other comparable ebikes but again, in this price point these components are the norm.
Final Thoughts
This great looking ebike has amazing specs and robust customer service from KBO at its price of $1400 so you’ll be able to “breeze” in style and for longer than most other ebikes in this category. If you’re looking for a cool looking ride with a bit of a longer range than the typical 20-40 miles, then this is the commuter ebike for you.
